After 20 years of working in the IT industry, Rebecca Seymour realized her dream and completed her degree in painting at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon.
Now an abstract artist based in Vancouver, Washington, Seymour has sold multiple paintings to private collectors as well as to corporate and organizational collections. Her art has been on display at the North Bank Artists Gallery in Vancouver, Washington from 2003 – 2017.
Her subject matter are objects found in nature. Seymour primarily works in layers of acrylic paint on large canvasses with a three-dimensional effect. The intention is that viewers are invited to step into another world and let their imagination roam among nature’s magical yet soothing qualities. Seymour prefers to fully explore a subject matter by creating a series of paintings on that topic.
Seymour is also a significant contributor to the art scene in Vancouver, Washington and it’s neighboring city Portland, Oregon. In addition to founding the North Bank Artists Community Project, a non-profit collaborative for local artists in Vancouver, she is also an active member of various arts organizations including the Portland Art Museum and the Artist Trust, a nonprofit based in Seattle supporting artists all across Washington.
When not in Vancouver, Seymour can be found at the lake house of her childhood in Upstate New York, which she shares with her husband, Gregory Lueck.
